‘Wickedness has Become Economic Policy’ — Sowore Blasts Wage Suggestion Critics

Omoyele Sowore, the 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has strongly condemned critics of his proposed ₦500,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers, describing their opposition as “wickedness” that has effectively become economic policy.

In a post on X, Sowore took aim at those rejecting the idea, pointing out that some of the loudest voices against it earn as much as ₦30 million monthly.

He also criticised certain low-income Nigerians who echo the claim that such a wage would trigger inflation.

“₦30 million for them is acceptable, but ₦500,000 for a Nigerian worker is inflationary? Wickedness has become an economic policy!” he wrote.
