Lagos State lawmaker and Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot, has once again tendered an apology to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, over his conduct during the last All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
In a video shared on X by Lagos Junction, Elliot was seen kneeling and prostrating before Gbajabiamila during a meeting with party leaders, pleading for forgiveness and reconciliation.
“I’m sorry. I have no excuse; I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry. And in our culture, we prostrate. Don’t be angry, Daddy,” Elliot said, as Gbajabiamila urged him to stand up.
The Surulere Constituency I representative admitted he may have been misguided during the primaries and pledged renewed loyalty to the APC leadership.
He emphasized his respect for Gbajabiamila, describing him as his political mentor. This latest apology follows an earlier one Elliot made on TVC’s Your View, where he acknowledged that any misunderstanding between them was unintentional and reaffirmed his commitment to party unity and constituency development.
The reconciliation comes amid lingering tensions within the Lagos APC, particularly over the House of Assembly leadership crisis, during which Gbajabiamila disclosed that President Bola Tinubu had confronted him over intelligence reports linking Elliot to political manoeuvres.
Senior party leaders have since intervened to ease the crisis, but Elliot’s public apology underscores his effort to mend ties and strengthen his standing within the party.
