The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, wanted.
The EFCC made the declaration in a post on its verified X
handle, signed by its Head, Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, on Wednesday.
Maina is reportedly involved in a multi-billion-naira
pension fraud scandal, spent subsequent years as a fugitive, and has faced
recent high-profile legal battles.
Maina was freed from the Kuje Correctional Centre after
serving a jail sentence stemming from his conviction over pension-related
fraud.
In November 2021, a Federal High Court in Abuja convicted
him of money laundering offences involving over N2 billion.
He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission in October 2019 but pleaded not guilty to the 12-count charge.
