Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested six suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate in Adamawa State and received the surrender of a Boko Haram/ISWAP fighter in Borno State.
The Acting Military Information Officer of the North-East Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, disclosed the developments in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, troops of Sector 4, working with local hunters, acted on credible human intelligence about a kidnapping group operating around Soktu Hill in Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
They raided an identified hideout and arrested three suspects, recovering one Dane gun.
Follow-up investigations and covert operations led to the arrest of three more members of the syndicate, bringing the total to six.
Preliminary findings indicated the group had been active in the Soktu, Dumne and Maigero areas of Song LGA.
The suspects reportedly admitted involvement in several abductions for ransom and other violent crimes.
They remain in military custody pending further investigation and legal action.
Separately, on 13 September 2026, troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade under Sector 2, in conjunction with Forest Guards, received a surrendered Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist at Borgozo in Benisheikh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.
Preliminary investigation showed the individual had escaped a terrorist enclave with the intention of abandoning the group.
Items recovered from him included one AK-47 rifle, 14 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, four magazines, one improvised explosive device, one magazine pouch and a bicycle.
He is currently in military custody undergoing further investigation and profiling.Captain Goni said the operations reflect the sustained pressure by Operation Hadin Kai troops against terrorists and other criminal elements in the Joint Operations Area.
The Theatre Command remains committed to offensive operations to deny criminals freedom of action and create a safer environment for residents and economic activities.
