The long-awaited heavyweight boxing fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is set to hold on December 11.
The British-Nigerian boxer confirmed the date in a post on
his social media account on Friday.
The fight is scheduled to take place at the Principality
Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
Joshua and Fury have been at each other’s throats for almost
a decade since the two boxers were at the peak of the world heavyweight
hierarchy.
A fight between them has been scheduled twice, but both
times the plan fell through.
The upcoming bout will be Joshua’s second-round knockout of
Kristian Prenga in July 2026. The 36-year-old had to recover from two
first-round knockdowns to defeat the Albanian in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
A few months earlier, Joshua had narrowly survived a car
crash along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during the Yuletide holiday in Nigeria
in 2025. The accident claimed the lives of the boxer’s close friends — Sina
Ghami and Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele.
