Chijioke Temidayo Nwokafor, the Nollywood actor popularly known as Cjay, is dead.
His colleague Nkechi Blessing Sunday confirmed the news on
Wednesday in an Instagram video.
Speaking through tears, the actress revealed that Cjay was
pronounced dead at a hospital in Badore, Lagos.
She also announced that the release of her upcoming film
‘Egusi Ogbono,’ which was set to premiere at 5pm on Wednesday, has been
cancelled.
“It took me a lot to do this because we won’t be dropping
the movie again at 5 PM. Right now, I am in a hospital in Badore. I just lost
Cjay,” she said.
“Cjay is dead. I don’t even know how to start.”
Nkechi did not reveal the cause of death.
Further details about his funeral arrangements were not
immediately available.
Cjay, a native of Awka in Anambra state, was based in Lagos
and launched his acting career in 2021.
He appeared in several Nollywood productions, including
‘Larry Cold,’ ‘Mum Overnight,’ ‘A Day To My Wedding,’ ‘The Lies She Tell,’ and
‘What Time Left’.
