2027: 'I’ll End Zamfara Insecurity in Two Years or Step Down' — NDC Guber Candidate

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Zamfara State, Senator Kabir Marafa, has vowed to wipe out insecurity in the state within two years if he wins the 2027 election, or resign if he fails.

Marafa made the pledge on Wednesday while speaking with journalists from the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zamfara State Council, at his residence in Gusau.

He promised to step down voluntarily should he be unable to halt insecurity, insurgency, kidnapping and other criminal activities within his first two years in office.

“If I am elected governor in the forthcoming general elections, give me a period of two years and I will end insecurity in this state.

“If I cannot bring an end to insecurity, insurgency, kidnapping and other criminalities in Zamfara State within the period of two years, I will voluntarily resign,” he declared.

The former senator and state commissioner said his years in government had given him a clear grasp of Zamfara’s problems and the solutions required.“I served as a commissioner for many years in this state. I also served as a senator for many years. I know the problems of this state and how to solve them,” Marafa added.
