The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, Theo Abu Agada, has described the 2023 Labour Party presidential running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, as a “bitter ex.”
Agada’s remark followed Datti’s claim that the 2027 NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and other contenders for the presidency cannot improve Nigeria.
While calling on President Bola Tinubu to step aside in 2027, Datti said the President should not hand over power to any of the candidates contesting against him because they are unfit to occupy the office.
In an interview over the weekend, Datti also disclosed that he had warned Obi against dumping the Labour Party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Obi defected from the Labour Party to the ADC earlier this year, citing a leadership crisis. He later left the ADC for the NDC, where he emerged as the party’s presidential flag bearer, with former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso named as his running mate.
Faulting Datti’s latest comments, Agada wrote on X: “Datti Baba-Ahmed is just a bitter ex.”
