Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has declared that he will never seek medical treatment abroad if elected in 2027.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Sowore insisted that any illness he cannot treat in Nigeria should “better kill” him, stressing his commitment to strengthening the country’s healthcare system.
He further emphasized that he would not use the presidency to advance personal or family interests, noting that he would avoid bringing “family liabilities” into governance.
Sowore also reiterated his stance against the Office of the First Lady, describing it as unconstitutional and a waste of public funds.
He assured that while women would have a strong voice in his administration, he does not believe in maintaining an office that lacks constitutional backing.
“Any sickness that I can’t treat in Nigeria when I become president should better kill me. I can tell you that for free,” he said.
The AAC candidate maintained that his focus would be on serving Nigerians and ensuring that resources are directed toward progress and development rather than ceremonial positions.
