The PBAT Door-To-Door Movement, Southwest, has flagged off its campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a 3,000-man “Posterity Walk” in Lagos.
The event, scheduled for Wednesday at the Lagos Television premises in Agidingbi, Ikeja, is expected to draw supporters and stakeholders from across the Southwest as part of grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu’s second term bid.
In a statement, Zonal Secretary Awoyinfa Opeoluwa said the walk was designed to showcase solidarity with the President and rally voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We are excited to announce the official flag-off of our campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. As we gear up for this critical electoral period, we are committed to mobilising support and ensuring that the vision and progress initiated by President Tinubu continue to flourish,” the statement read.
The group described the Posterity Walk as a symbol of unity and determination to back Tinubu’s administration, urging participants to attend with banners and posters highlighting achievements in governance, economic growth, and national unity.
Tinubu, elected in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, is seeking a second four-year term in 2027.
While his administration has faced criticism over economic hardship and inflation, supporters argue that reforms are necessary to reposition Nigeria’s economy for long-term stability.
The South-West remains a crucial political base for Tinubu, and the movement said Wednesday’s walk marks the beginning of sustained grassroots mobilisation across the region.
