The Oyo State Local Government Service Commission has released 1,535 promotion letters to staff across the 33 local government areas of the state as part of the 2025 promotion exercise.
The promotions, covering Grade Levels 06 to 17, cut across seven departments within the commission and local governments.
In a statement signed by the Director of Education and Social Services, Lala Foluso, the breakdown of beneficiaries includes:
Administration and General Services – 288
Agriculture and Natural Resources – 57
Budget, Planning, Research and Statistics – 40
Education and Social Services – 431
Environmental Health Services – 44
Finance and Supplies – 315
Works, Housing, Lands and Survey – 360
Presenting the letters on behalf of the commission, Chairman Bashorun Akinwole said the exercise reflects Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to workers’ welfare, motivation, and career progression.
“The promotion is a clear demonstration of the administration’s resolve to build a professional, efficient and well-motivated local government workforce capable of delivering quality service at the grassroots,” Akinwole stated.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers, urging them to see the advancement as both a reward for diligence and a call to greater responsibility.
Akinwole further assured that the commission remains committed to regular promotion exercises, capacity building, and improved welfare packages for staff in line with the Omituntun 2.0 agenda of the Makinde administration.
