African Democratic Congress (ADC) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Adegboyega Adegoke, has held a closed-door meeting with Allied People’s Movement (APM) chieftain, Abdul-Rasheed Olopoeyan, sparking speculation of a political alliance ahead of the 2027 elections.
The meeting, which took place at Olopoeyan’s residence on Thursday, was attended by Adegoke alongside ADC Deputy National Women Leader (Southwest), Kafilat Olayiwola.
Both politicians were formerly members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before moving to their current parties.
Although details of the discussion were not officially disclosed, sources revealed that the talks centred on collaboration for the upcoming gubernatorial election, with indications that both leaders may work together in 2027.
The development adds to ongoing realignments in Oyo politics as parties and candidates position themselves for the next election cycle.
