Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Thursday visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and presented his Certificate of Return to him.
The visit came after Adeleke met President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had presented the certificate to Governor Adeleke on Wednesday.
Adeleke won the August 15, 2026, governorship election with 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 17,180 votes.
Wike had earlier stated that he would have been in Osun State during the election if President Tinubu had wanted the APC candidate to win at all costs.
