Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday visited the vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, to commiserate with him over the death of his mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi.
Osinbajo’s visit to Amaechi’s Abuja residence comes as political leaders across the country continue to extend condolences to the former Minister of Transportation and his family.
Both men previously served together in the administration of late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Osinbajo joins a growing list of prominent Nigerians who have personally visited Amaechi since the announcement of his mother’s passing.
Last week, ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, who is running alongside Amaechi in the 2027 election, also visited to sympathize with his running mate.
Similarly, Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and ADC national chairman David Mark have paid condolence visits.
The steady stream of visits underscores Amaechi’s political significance as leaders rally around him during this period of mourning.
