Former Osun State governor and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has publicly declared that he has remained completely faithful to his wife, Sherifat, throughout their marriage, never having sex^al relations with any other woman.
Aregbesola made the statement at an ADC campaign rally in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State, ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Speaking in Yoruba, he framed his fidelity as a personal commitment rooted in his fear of God and devotion to Him.
He told supporters: “Oh Lord my God, if you are the one I am serving, and I did not add any other thing to it. What I am about to say, only a few men can say it: Because of your fear, I never had any intimacy with another woman since I married my wife.”
He added that he had told God that “next June, we must do it at the Government House,” linking his personal conduct to a prayer for political success.
The declaration comes as campaigns intensify ahead of the Osun governorship poll, which features incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke (Accord Party) seeking re-election, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, and ADC’s Najeem Folasayo Salaam.
