Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, husband of Kemi Adeosun, a former minister of finance, has passed on.
Adeniyi, fondly called Niyi, died on August 5 aged 62, in
Lagos, according to a statement signed by C. A. Adeosun, for and on behalf of
the family.
The family said Niyi is survived by his wife; children; and
siblings, including Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital.
The family said the Christian burial arrangements for Niyi
will be announced in due course.
“Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the
assurance of God’s Word: ‘Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they
may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them’ (Revelation
14:13),” the statement reads.
“The family requests privacy during this difficult period as
we grieve our irreplaceable loss. Details of the funeral and Christian burial
arrangements will be communicated in due course.
“We thank all who have reached out with prayers,
condolences, and support.”
The deceased’s wife served as minister of finance, under
then-President Muhammadu Buhari, from 2015 to 2018.
