Several travellers were reportedly abducted by suspected bandits while travelling from Sheme in Katsina State to Kebbi State as part of a wedding convoy escorting a bride.
The incident, which has raised fresh concerns about insecurity along roads in the North-West, was disclosed by crisis reporter Bakatsine in a post on X on Saturday.
According to him, the victims were part of a wedding convoy that came under attack during the journey to Kebbi State.
Bakatsine appealed for prayers for the victims, stating that some members of the convoy were abducted after encountering the bandits.
Details of the attack, including the exact location and the number of people abducted, were not immediately available.
As of the time of the report, security agencies had yet to issue an official statement on the incident, and the fate and whereabouts of those reportedly abducted remained unknown.
