Atiku, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso Can’t Make Headway Except Miracle Happens – Fayose

Former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose has declared that opposition presidential hopefuls Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso stand little chance in the 2027 elections unless a “miracle” unites them.

Speaking on TVC’s Politics Tonight, Fayose argued that both Atiku of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) are unlikely to succeed individually.

He added that Kwankwaso’s decision to serve as Obi’s running mate has sparked discontent among some northern supporters.“In the presidential election, Obi has lost already; Atiku has lost already. Except there is a miracle of them coming together, there is no headway,” Fayose said.

He further insisted that it was “too late” for opposition parties to form a united front, noting that the Independent National Electoral Commission had already accredited candidates.

Fayose criticized last-minute withdrawals in past elections, describing them as political miscalculations.

The former governor also referenced President Bola Tinubu’s 2023 victory, claiming he won “without INEC, without the police, without all the government’s strength,” and warning opposition figures against underestimating his political resilience.

Fayose’s remarks shows ongoing divisions within Nigeria’s opposition ahead of the 2027 polls, raising questions about whether rival camps can overcome internal rifts to mount a credible challenge.
