Security operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, have rescued two Fulani herders abducted by kidnappers in the Owo axis along the Ondo-Edo boundary.
The victims, identified as Abubakar Umaru and Abdulahi Umaru, were seized while grazing their cattle.
Their parents raised the alarm after the boys failed to return home, prompting Amotekun to launch a search operation.
Commander of Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, explained that his men combed the Abuja Forest, a dense area linking Ondo and Edo for several hours before locating the kidnappers’ hideout.
The herders were freed, while their cattle were also recovered.According to Adeleye, the kidnappers fled upon realizing that security personnel had surrounded the area.
He emphasized that the swift response was crucial in saving the victims and disrupting the criminal operation.
