The Osun State Government has urged residents not to feel betrayed by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, clarifying that the support was declared long before Adeleke’s recent electoral victory.
Speaking on Arise TV, Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, explained that the governor’s backing of Tinubu was not a post-election decision but a position he had consistently maintained.
“The governor’s endorsement of President Tinubu was made public long before the Osun poll. It is not a reaction to his victory,” Rasheed stated, stressing that Adeleke’s stance should not be misinterpreted as opportunistic.
The clarification comes amid mixed reactions from Osun residents following Adeleke’s announcement, with some questioning whether the move aligned with the expectations of his supporters.
