Jigawa State Governor’s aide on New Media, Comrade Muhammad Garba, has taken aim at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following its poor showing in the recently concluded Osun State governorship election.
Garba, in a Facebook post on Sunday, dismissed the party as having little influence beyond a handful of northern local governments. He noted that despite its “propaganda and outbursts,” the ADC managed only 17,180 votes.
The election saw Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party re-elected for a second term, winning 19 of Osun’s 30 local government areas with 511,067 votes.
His closest rival, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, secured 444,811 votes across 11 LGAs.Garba praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for allowing the process to run without interference, describing the outcome as proof of Nigeria’s democratic resilience.
“President Tinubu has shown that holding the presidency does not mean every election must be won by his party,” Garba said, stressing that independent institutions and free choice are vital to democracy’s survival.
He added that the Osun election results reflect more than numbers, but a broader expression of democratic will under Tinubu’s administration.
