ADC Declares Confidence: ‘We Don’t Need Coalition to Win 2027 Election’

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has stated that it does not require a coalition to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, explained that while the ADC initially pursued a broad coalition to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu, it now believes it can win independently.

Abdullahi noted that opposition discussions are currently focused on cooperation in areas such as election monitoring and vote protection, rather than producing a single presidential candidate.

“The ADC doesn’t need a coalition to win this 2027 election. When we started building this coalition, it was to make our job easier. But even without it, we can win,” he said.

He added that platforms like the G-100 movement are still working to mobilize opposition parties, but the emphasis remains on developing common protocols for safeguarding votes rather than merging candidacies.

Abdullahi stressed that effective collaboration in protecting ballots would be “major” in ensuring credible elections, even without a unified opposition front.
