Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has condemned the ongoing violence by armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Many residents of Otukpo have been killed in a series of unprovoked attacks by the herdsmen since the beginning of 2026.On Wednesday, the Benue-born artiste visited Otukpo-Nobi, a community in the local government area where assailants launched a deadly attack on July 12, 2026, killing at least 10 residents and injuring several others.
While commiserating with members of the community, 2Baba called on stakeholders to immediately proffer solutions to the incessant attacks. He said the killings had become too frequent and that concrete plans must be put in place to stop further assaults by the criminal elements.
“It’s becoming too much now, we can’t pretend anymore. We need to begin planning. It won’t be automatic but there is definitely going to be a solution,” he said.
“It’s not going to be one person, we all need to come together and fight it. I came to sympathise with you all. It’s painful.”
