2027: People Who Can’t Tell Their Primary School Want to be President — Rufai Oseni

Popular broadcaster and Arise Television Morning Show anchor Rufai Oseni has criticised presidential candidates who fail to disclose their primary school information, saying Nigerians should demand greater transparency from those seeking the country’s highest office.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Oseni wrote: “People that can’t tell you their primary school want to be your president and Nigerians will vote them.”

His comments followed the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) public display of personal particulars, academic credentials and other documents submitted by candidates for the 2027 presidential election.

The documents show that President Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, listed only his Bachelor of Science degree from Chicago State University.

The sections for primary and secondary school attendance years were entered as “0000.”

By contrast, the forms submitted by Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Peter Obi and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar included educational histories starting from primary school.

INEC said the publication begins the statutory period for public scrutiny, during which any person may challenge false information in a candidate’s affidavit in court, in line with the Electoral Act.
