The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has thrown its weight behind Senator Abdulaziz Yari, expressing confidence in his ability to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued Wednesday by its chairman, Saleh Zazzaga, the forum congratulated Yari on his appointment as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
It also hailed the appointments of James Faleke as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring, and Okpokwu Ogenyi as North-Central Coordinator.
The forum described Yari as a widely respected leader across the northern states, noting his acceptance among traditional rulers, political figures, religious leaders, youths, and women.
It emphasized that his track record in governance and grassroots mobilization positioned him as a rallying point for progressives nationwide.
“Going by his track record, there is no doubt that he has what it takes to deliver victory for President Bola Tinubu and the APC in 2027,” the forum stated.
Yari, founder of the Renewed Hope Network, has long invested time and resources in mobilizing support for Tinubu’s administration.
His political career spans roles as Zamfara State Governor, National Financial Secretary of the defunct ANPP, and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
The forum pledged to work closely with the campaign council, particularly Ogenyi, to deliver six million votes for Tinubu in the North-Central region.
It also highlighted Faleke’s experience, recalling his role as Secretary of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 campaign and his leadership in the Tinubu Support Group.
The APC unveiled its Presidential Campaign Council last Saturday, with President Tinubu as chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima as Vice Chairman I, and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda as Vice Chairman II.
