Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni, has questioned the repeated campaign promises of African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, Rufai argued that Atiku’s pledges lack clarity and practical detail, warning that the former vice president is beginning to sound like a “public sound bite.”
Daily Post recalls that Atiku recently vowed to reinstate the fuel subsidy regime if elected, insisting that President Bola Tinubu’s removal of the subsidy has not benefited Nigerians.
He also pledged to reopen northern borders to boost legitimate trade.Reacting, Rufai said:
“Atiku Abubakar is beginning to sound like a public sound bite to me. There’s no follow-up and no clear idea of how it’s going to be done. Give Nigerians a step-by-step explanation of how you intend to achieve it.”
He added that while Atiku’s statements generate hype, they lack substance, urging the candidate to provide concrete plans rather than broad promises.
Rufai noted that Atiku’s campaign pressure has at least influenced Tinubu’s administration to direct a reduction in CNG prices.
