Nentawe Yilwatda, national chairman of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), has inaugurated the national executives of the President Bola
Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Door-to-Door Movement, describing the 2027 general election
as a defining moment for Nigeria’s future.
Speaking in Abuja on Thursday at the inauguration of the
movement’s national leadership, Yilwatda urged members of the group to
intensify grassroots mobilisation for the next year’s elections, saying
electoral victories are secured through direct engagement with voters.
“Your assignment is simple: knock on every door, house to
house. Elections are not won on TV or on social media. They are won in
marketplaces, in villages,” he said.
The APC national chairman said members should take the
renewed hope agenda directly to communities across the country.
“Every door you knock on will become a vote; every heart you
win will become a voice that will echo the renewed hope agenda,” he said.
Yilwatda described the 2027 elections as a choice between
two different paths for the country.
“It is a choice between moving forward and moving backwards,
between reform and retreat,” he said.
Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, said the
PBAT Door-to-Door Movement’s newly inaugurated executives would immediately
commence nationwide grassroots mobilisation in support of Tinubu’s re-election
bid.
Tompolo, the initiator of the movement, added that the
initiative is aimed at deepening grassroots mobilisation and promoting civic
participation across the country.
Among dignitaries at the event were Senate President
Godswill Akpabio; Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house of representatives;
Dauda Lawal, governor of Zamfara; Agbu Kefas, governor of Taraba; Caleb
Mutfwang, governor of Plateau; Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife; Aminu
Bello Masari, former governor of Katsina; and Asari Dokubo, former Niger Delta
militant leader.
