Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has issued a stern warning to what he described as “political criminals” in the state, vowing that their actions will no longer be tolerated.
In a video message shared with supporters, Bello singled out Kogi Central as a hotspot for political misconduct, cautioning those involved to prepare for consequences.
While he did not mention any names, he urged individuals who felt targeted by his remarks to reflect on their own behavior.
“The political criminals within us in Kogi State, get ready. The political criminals within Kogi Central, get ready. We are coming after you,” Bello declared. He stressed that maligning him under the guise of political campaigns would not be excused, adding, “Criminality is criminality; you cannot tell me that because it is campaign season, you use your mouth to malign me. I’ll come against you.”
The former governor also expressed confidence in the leadership of current Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Tinubu, saying both leaders would guide the state and the nation toward the “Promised Land.”
Bello’s remarks underscore rising political tensions in Kogi, where accusations of “dirty politics” and criminality have become increasingly prominent in public discourse.
