The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed why President Bola Tinubu decided to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 general elections.
According to Garba Muhammad, APC’s North-West Vice Chairman, Tinubu’s decision reflects his confidence in Shettima’s loyalty, competence, and dedication to national service.
He described the move as a strategic calculation aimed at strengthening the party’s electoral prospects.Muhammad commended the President for re-nominating Shettima, calling him a dependable partner whose performance in office has earned the trust of many Nigerians.
“This action by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a demonstration of his trust and confidence in the Vice President. So far, Nigerians are well pleased with Shettima’s loyalty and commitment to his fatherland,” Muhammad stated.
He added that the decision underscores Tinubu’s political foresight and reinforces APC’s position as the party to beat in the upcoming election.
Muhammad urged party members and Nigerians to continue supporting the administration as it implements its policies and development programmes, stressing that Tinubu’s leadership team remains focused on national progress.
