US President Donald Trump is considering granting clemency to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in the coming days, CBS News has reported.
According to the report, Trump is expected to pardon a number
of people convicted of emissions and clean-air-related offences, and the US
president is also weighing other potential acts of clemency for Diddy and
several other high-profile individuals.
The report added that Trump was scheduled to meet with
advisers to discuss pardon recommendations before making a final decision.
Another person reportedly seeking a presidential pardon is
Prakazrel “Pras” Michel, a member of the hip-hop group The Fugees. The Grammy
Award-winning rapper is serving a 14-year federal prison sentence after he was
convicted of conspiring with Malaysian financier Jho Low to orchestrate foreign
lobbying campaigns aimed at influencing the US government under two
presidential administrations.
Combs, the music mogul, stood trial in 2025 over allegations that he abused and
coerced three alleged victims, including Cassie Ventura, his former long-term
partner. He also faced charges including kidnapping, arson, and blackmail.
In July 2025, however, a New York jury returned a split
verdict, finding him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution
but acquitting him
of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
The Bad Boy Records founder was also accused in multiple civil lawsuits of sexually
abusing 120 women and men, including a 9-year-old boy.
Combs was arrested in
Manhattan on September 16, 2024, following an indictment by federal prosecutors
in the Southern District of New York.
In January, Trump refused to grant Diddy a presidential pardon
after the rapper’s defence team wrote to the president for clemency.
As of press time, the White House had not confirmed whether
Trump would grant Combs a pardon.
