Tinubu to Unveil ₦2.4tn Abuja City Walk Project Thursday

President Bola Tinubu will on Thursday officially launch the ₦2.4 trillion Abuja City Walk development, a 250‑hectare mixed‑use urban district along the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport corridor in the Federal Capital Territory.

The unveiling ceremony, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Plot 28, Cadastral Zone C17, Industrial Area II, Abuja, will mark the commencement of physical construction on the flagship project promoted by MAG Group in partnership with Link Developments.

A Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed with Saudi royal Prince Khalid bin Saud bin Khalid bin Turki Al Saud, who will also address investors.

The Nigeria‑Arab Gulf Chamber of Commerce is set to deliver remarks highlighting growing Gulf investment interest in Nigeria’s real estate sector.

Located within a designated Free Trade Zone, the project offers tax incentives and a favourable regulatory environment to attract long‑term foreign investment.

Designed by international architecture firm Benoy, the masterplan includes:Africa’s tallest tower: a 450‑metre skyscraper with offices, hospitality facilities, and luxury residences.

Indoor arena: a 13,000‑seat venue set to become Nigeria’s largest indoor sports and entertainment facility.

Arts district: 12,000 square metres of exhibition and performance spaces.

Ecological corridor: “The Living Ravine,” a sustainable Sponge District concept for flood management, rainwater harvesting, and climate resilience.

The ecological corridor has already been shortlisted for the 2026 World Landscape Architecture Awards.

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike explained that the land, originally allocated to Abuja Technology Village but left undeveloped for over two decades, was recovered under recent reforms.

He emphasized that the project aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to attract investors and create jobs.

“If anybody has gone to Dubai and seen the City Walk, there is no way you will not appreciate and encourage investors willing to do the same in Abuja,” Wike said.
