President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of three Oyo State indigenes to the Surveyors Council of Nigeria, with Moshood Akinwande named as President of the council.
The appointments, confirmed in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary of the General Services Office, Ibrahim Abubakar, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, also include Olusoji Adeoye and Olaribigbe Shiyanbola as council members representing Oyo State.
According to the letter, the new council members will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the SGF’s Hall, Shehu Shagari Complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja.
Akinwande, a retired director in the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation, hails from Oyo town.
Adeoye currently serves as the Surveyor-General of Oyo State, while Shiyanbola, from Ipapo in Itesiwaju Local Government Area, is a former Oyo State Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors and past Secretary of the Board of Fellows of the institution.
The council’s membership cuts across diverse interest groups, including representatives of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors from various states, academic institutions offering surveying courses, and the military.
