Tinubu Appoints Fayose as REA Chairman, Names 25 Others to Federal Agencies


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).  

  

 The President also approved the appointment of 25 other individuals into various positions across 10 federal government agencies and commissions, according to a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.


Fayose will chair the REA board, alongside members and non-executive directors Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta. 


The agency’s incumbent Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and previously appointed executive directors complete the board.  

  

Other key appointments include:National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission: Maj. General Bindawa (Chairman), with Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas (Secretary), and commissioners Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo), Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna), Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo), and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi). 


Tosin Johnson Adeyanju was moved from Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) to Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission. 


Dr Abuh Mohammed was named Director-General of the National Population Commission.


Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET).


Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman/CEO of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.


Engineer Julius Oloro as CEO of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) in Kwara State.


Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with members including Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.


Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education.


Gisaor Vincent Iorja as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority. 

  

All appointments take immediate effect.The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across key federal institutions responsible for infrastructure, revenue, population management, energy, and fiscal responsibility.
