The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Abuja Region, has announced a scheduled preventive maintenance exercise at the Katampe 132/33kV Transmission Substation on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In a statement issued in Abuja, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, explained that the maintenance will enable engineers to carry out preventive work on the 100MVA 132/33kV Power Transformer (TR1), its auxiliaries, and associated switchgear.
As a result, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to distribute bulk power to customers in parts of Mpape, Maitama, Jahi, Life Camp, Kado Fish Market, Idu-Karmo, and surrounding areas during the maintenance period.
Mbah expressed regret over any inconvenience the outage may cause residents, stressing that routine equipment maintenance is essential to ensure optimal performance and reliability of power supply.
