Sunday Igboho’s Security Network Rescues Kidnapped Mother, Son in Kwara

Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has announced the rescue of a woman and her son who were abducted in Igbope, Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The victims, Adijat Kubura Aliqlas and her son Abdulmalik, were freed in Kwara State after a joint operation by Igboho’s Iru Ekun Security Network and the Nigeria Police Force’s Intelligence Response Team.

According to a statement from Igboho’s media office, the rescue followed three days of intelligence gathering and tracking.

The kidnappers, lured with ransom, engaged security operatives in a gun battle before fleeing with bullet wounds and abandoning their captives in the forest.

“Around midnight, they came to collect the ransom as agreed. We attacked them in the forest, exchanged gunfire, and chased them until they fled. Later, we heard the victims shouting for help and rescued them,” Igboho said.

The victims are currently receiving medical care at Igboho General Hospital. Igboho credited the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, for coordinating with police commissioners in Kwara and Niger States, which made the operation successful.

He reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Oke-Ogun and Oyo State, urging Nigerians to support lawful security efforts and avoid spreading unverified information that could cause panic.
