President Bola Tinubu has congratulated David Umahi,
Minister of Works, on his birthday.
Born on July 25, 1963, Umahi turned 63 today.
The president described the ex-Ebonyi governor as “one of my
outstanding, hardworking ministers”.
In a statement issued on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, special
adviser to the president on information and strategy, Tinubu said Umahi is
“passionate about the job and delivering durable roads and bridges that will
last for about a century”.
Tinubu also commended Umahi for his “passion, dedication to
duty, and deep sense of patriotism”.
The president urged the minister to accelerate road
construction, rehabilitation, and delivery, in line with his administration’s
objective of improving citizens’ quality of life and boosting economic
activity.
“As a minister, he does not just sit in his office or rely
on reports from subordinates; he is constantly on the road, personally
monitoring construction work nationwide to ensure compliance with
specifications and approvals,” Tinubu said.
The president congratulated the minister and his family and
wished him good health and renewed strength “as he continues to serve the
nation”.
Before he was appointed minister, Umahi served as senator
representing Ebonyi south district. He was also a two-term governor of Ebonyi
state from 2015 to 2023.
