Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Gombe State, has issued a strong warning against any attempt to rig or manipulate the upcoming polls, declaring that the party will not tolerate electoral malpractice.
Pantami made the remarks on Wednesday during meetings with PDP members and supporters in Nafada and other local government areas of the state. Speaking in Hausa, he called on the Gombe State Government and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to ensure a level playing field and transparent process once campaigns commence.
“No one has yet been born who can change our election results in Gombe State,” Pantami asserted. “Not this time around the people will cast their votes, and it will count.”
The PDP candidate emphasized that his party intends to run an issue-based campaign focused on development rather than engaging in insults or confrontations. He expressed confidence in the electorate, stating that Gombe voters have become wiser and will not allow their votes to be wasted.
Pantami urged residents not to be intimidated but to actively participate in the electoral process and vote according to their conscience. He reiterated the PDP’s commitment to winning through the ballot box via lawful democratic means and defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In addition, the former minister criticized the APC-led administration for allegedly failing to improve the lives of residents, claiming that government contracts are being awarded to a select few individuals.
Pantami thanked his supporters for their backing and encouraged them to sustain the momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
