Comedian Princewill has responded to domestic violence allegations made by his ex-wife Chioma.
In an Instagram video released on Tuesday, Princewill confirmed he
slapped her twice during their marriage.
The comedian, born Odeh Ajiri Princewill, stated that he had
prepared a detailed one-hour rebuttal video but chose to delete it following a
“personal appeal from Pastor Gbenga of Harvesters International Christian
Church, Magodo”.
“I had already scheduled the one-hour video, and in that
video, with God who made me, I gave details. I have taken it down everywhere
except Instagram because I don’t know how to delete a scheduled post. I am
doing this because of you, pastor,” he said.
The comedian also addressed several of Chioma’s claims,
denying that he provided only N200,000 monthly for rent, school fees, and other
expenses.
He asserted that he continued to pay her rent and health
insurance (HMO) even after their separation, and that he recently covered
hospital bills for her sister’s childbirth.
“She has never paid rent. Even after we were no longer
together, I still paid her rent. I also paid for her HMO, and whenever she
called that she needed money, I still sent it,” he added.
Regarding physical abuse, Princewill admitted to slapping
his ex-wife on two occasions during the marriage, expressing regret and stating
he had already apologised.
However, he claimed there were “several things” that
occurred during the union that he has chosen not to disclose, citing concern
for their children.
“I had instances where I slapped this girl twice in the
marriage, and I’m not proud of it. I apologised for it,” he said.
“The number of men that came to drop her at my gate during
the marriage, the number of men that gave Chioma money during the marriage, I
kept quiet.
“Let it be known that I kept quiet because of AJ and TJ.”
Princewill’s response follows a viral video from
Chioma, who accused him of domestic violence, including an alleged assault
while she was recovering from a Caesarean section, intimidation, and chronic
infidelity.
She denied claims of being unfaithful, calling them “a lie
from the pit of hell,” and warned that her family should be held responsible if
anything happened to her.
“If anything happens to me and my family, the world should
hold Comedian Princewill and his family responsible, she said.
Chioma also disclosed that the incidents were reported to
the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, leading to their eventual
agreement to separate.
She argued that if she had been unfaithful, it would have
been included in the divorce petition Princewill filed in January 2026,
following her family’s return of her bride price in December 2025.
