Ganduje Denies Joining NDC, Calls Defection Posters Fake

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has strongly denied rumours of defecting to the New Democratic Congress (NDC), describing circulating posters on social media as fake, mischievous, and politically motivated.

In a statement issued on Friday by his former Commissioner for Information and Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, Ganduje reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the APC, insisting he is not a “nomadic politician or a vulture flying from one tree to another” in pursuit of personal ambition.

He dismissed the defection posters as a calculated attempt to mislead the public, sow confusion among APC members, and create unnecessary political tension.“It is not only false but also illogical for anyone to insinuate that Ganduje has joined the NDC; such a claim lacks both political and logical foundation,” the statement read.

Ganduje emphasised that he has remained consistent in his political convictions and has never contemplated leaving the APC, a party he once led as National Chairman. He described the APC as Nigeria’s largest and most formidable political party, which continues to enjoy growing acceptance across the country under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

The statement further revealed that the individuals behind the fake posters have been identified. Ganduje warned them to immediately withdraw the defamatory materials or face legal action. He urged APC members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the posters entirely, stressing that they do not reflect his political position or intentions.

Ganduje reiterated his commitment to working with President Tinubu and the APC leadership to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthen the party ahead of future elections. He advised the public to rely solely on official communications from him or authorised APC organs regarding his political activities.

The development comes amid heightened political manoeuvring as various parties position themselves for future contests.
