FCT Projects: Wike Has Exceeded Expectations, Tinubu Declares

President Bola Tinubu has praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for delivering impressive infrastructure projects that have surpassed his expectations.

Tinubu made the commendation on Tuesday during the commissioning of the newly constructed Transit Way N2 corridor, which links the Central Business District (CBD) to Wuse District with two standard engineered bridges.

The event also marked the third anniversary of his administration and the 50th anniversary of the FCT's creation.

Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the event, President Tinubu stated that Wike has not failed him or Nigerians, but has consistently exceeded expectations in transforming the FCT.

“When I gave Wike the mandate to oversee the FCT, my directive was simple, direct, and uncompromising: Deliver tangible results to the people of Nigeria, eliminate delays, return Abuja to its master plan, and fulfill what was expected by our founding fathers,” Tinubu said.

He emphasized that the Renewed Hope agenda must be more than a slogan, but a visible reality through improved infrastructure that citizens can experience daily.

The President described the new Transit Way N2 as a critical component of the FCT master plan, designed to ease traffic congestion, enhance connectivity, and improve urban mobility for millions of residents and commuters.

Tinubu further lauded the FCT Administration under Wike whom he referred to as “Mr. Projects” for its vision, commitment, and timely execution of projects, noting that these efforts contribute to building a future capital city that brings pride to Nigeria.

The commissioning highlights ongoing efforts to modernize Abuja’s road network and restore the city’s original urban planning vision.
