FCIPC scandal: 'Gbajabiamila is a whistleblower' – Arewa Youth Forum

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has declared that Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, acted as a whistleblower rather than a suspect in the controversy surrounding the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

In a statement signed by its National President, Alhaji Mohammed Aliyu, the group praised Gbajabiamila for promptly alerting security agencies after uncovering suspicious activities linked to the non-existent agency.

According to the Presidency, Gbajabiamila raised the alarm on October 17, 2025, through a formal letter to the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force, following complaints from the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC).

The Presidency had earlier explained that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi allegedly masterminded the scam by forging official documents, creating a fake government agency, and securing unauthorized office space at the Federal Secretariat.

Gbajabiamila reportedly provided evidence of forged appointment letters with falsified signatures and seals.

AYCF commended the Chief of Staff’s vigilance, noting that his intervention prevented a major embarrassment to the government.

“His timely action demonstrates commitment to transparency and good governance. By refusing to ignore suspicious activities and involving security agencies immediately, he set a shining example of accountability,” the statement read.

The Forum described Adeyemi as a serial fraudster with a history dating back to 2016, when he allegedly posed as the President-General of a fictitious World Youth Organisation.

It urged Nigerians not to politicize the matter, stressing that Adeyemi’s allegations were “an afterthought” from someone already facing criminal charges.

AYCF called for patience as the judicial process unfolds, with Adeyemi’s trial scheduled for July 27. “Justice will eventually prevail, and the truth will come out,” the group assured.
