Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Zamfara State have successfully rescued the four remaining students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, who were kidnapped by bandits.
The rescue was disclosed on Wednesday by security expert Zagazola Makama on his X handle.
According to Makama, DSS operatives, acting on intelligence, rescued the students, four males and one female late Wednesday without any ransom being paid.
One kidnapper was arrested during the operation while others were neutralised.
The students were abducted on June 3 at their off-campus hostel in the Low-cost area of Kaura Namoda when armed bandits stormed the building and seized six of them. Two had earlier been released.
The latest rescue brings relief to the families and the polytechnic community as security forces continue intelligence-led operations against banditry in the region.
