A staff member of record label Chocolate City has filed a lawsuit against rapper Odumodublvck, accusing him of assault during a music festival in Lagos last year.
The claimant, who serves as a project manager and public
relations officer in the music industry and an employee of Chocolate City
Limited, filed the suit at the Lagos state high court.
The incident allegedly occurred on December 22, 2025, at the
Flyfest Flytime Music Festival, held at Eko Hotel.
According to court documents dated June 6, 2026, the
claimant was present at the event in his professional capacity as project
manager for an artiste signed to Chocolate City Limited.
The documents state that what began as a friendly
conversation between the rapper and the claimant’s artiste “turned to
aggression and threats,” with Odumodublvck allegedly making comments about
“ending” the claimant.
The staff member claims the assault caused him “physical
pain, shock, fear, and emotional distress”.
“The claimant states that the defendant approached the
backstage area and engaged in conversations with various individuals, including
the said artiste, in what appeared to be a cordial and friendly manner,” the
letter reads.
“Shortly thereafter, the defendant sighted the claimant and
walked up to him under the pretense of initiating a casual conversation, asking
whether it was the claimant or his brother that worked aggressively while
issuing threats, thereby causing the claimant physical pain, shock, fear, and
emotional distress.
“The claimant further avers that despite the prompt
intervention of a security bouncer who attempted to restrain the Defendant and
de-escalate the situation, the defendant persisted in his violent conduct and
issued explicit verbal threats, including statements to the effect that he
would “end” the claimant.”
The claimant also accused an associate of the rapper,
identified only as Shagba, of pouring an alcoholic drink on him during the
incident.
Following the alleged assault, medical personnel advised the
claimant to remain indoors and observe strict rest, and he was placed on neck
support.
The court papers state he suffered recurrent headaches,
facial and neck swelling, and generalized body pains.
Due to the recovery restrictions, the claimant said he
experienced significant professional disruption and financial loss, totaling
N50 million. This figure includes income from delayed project deliverables,
estimated lost productivity, and missed professional bookings.
The claimant described the rapper’s conduct as “high-handed,
malicious, and calculated to intimidate and demean him,” claiming that
Odumodublvck has shown no remorse.
The legal filing notes that the claimant’s solicitors issued
a formal demand for redress before proceeding with the lawsuit.
This is not the first assault allegation against the rapper.
Levi Ogbogiri, also known as Kraziecent, filed a separate
assault and battery lawsuit against Odumodublvck, alleging he was attacked
without provocation during a public event on December 16, 2024.
Ogbogiri claimed the incident resulted in assault, emotional
distress, and damage to his iPhone 15 Pro Max.
That case is currently pending before the federal high court
in Abuja, with hearings adjourned until October 13 and 14, 2026.
