An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, narrowly escaped a mob attack on Friday at the bustling Ladipo Market in Lagos State.
Igbokwe recounted the incident in a video shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday.

He explained that he had visited the market to purchase spare parts for his car when some youths recognized him and began mobilizing aggressively.
According to him, the crowd grew tense as people pointed fingers and shouted his name.
“They were saying, ‘this is Igbokwe, so you can come to this market?’” he said. To avoid confrontation, he quickly sought refuge in a friend’s shop until market leaders intervened.
Igbokwe clarified that contrary to online reports claiming he was beaten, he was not physically attacked. “This is me. I was not beaten,” he stated, adding that he eventually left the market quietly after the situation was defused.
He expressed concern over the hostility, warning that such incidents should not be repeated. “I pray it doesn’t happen again. I know what to do,” he remarked.
