Tinubu Has Done Well, Says Bayelsa APC Chairman

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Warman Ogoriba, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s performance, declaring that the President has done very well and deserves re-election for a second term.

Ogoriba made the remarks on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in Yenagoa, while expressing confidence in Tinubu’s ability to secure victory in the next presidential election despite criticisms from opposition quarters.

He acknowledged that criticism is a normal feature of democracy but urged Nigerians to recognise the achievements of the current administration.

“We expect criticism in politics, and we welcome constructive criticism. We are not worried about calls for the President’s resignation. We are focused on development projects and ensuring that Nigerians continue to benefit from government policies,” Ogoriba said.

The Bayelsa APC chairman highlighted several areas of progress, particularly in infrastructure.“I think the President has done very well. In terms of infrastructure and road networks, how many presidents in Nigeria have undertaken a coastal road project of this magnitude?” he asked.

Addressing the rising cost of living, Ogoriba noted that while prices have increased, salaries have also risen and more money is circulating in the economy.“Look at the savings from subsidy removal and the increased allocations going to states. The President has challenged governors to explain how they are using the additional funds,” he added.

He gave the President a strong personal assessment, saying:“As an APC member and chairman of the party, I would say President Tinubu has performed above 90 per cent.”

Ogoriba dismissed concerns about growing opposition in Bayelsa, insisting the APC remains the dominant party and would focus on achievements rather than political rivalry during campaigns. He expressed optimism that Nigerians would “vote massively” for Tinubu in the next election.

The statement comes amid ongoing national debates over economic reforms, infrastructure delivery, and political opposition to the Tinubu administration.
