Police Probe Ammunition Parcel Sent to First Bank MD

The Lagos State Police Command has opened an investigation after a suspicious parcel containing two live rounds of ammunition was delivered to the residence of First Bank of Nigeria’s Managing Director, Oluwasegun Alebiosu.

Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, confirmed the incident during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikeja, describing it as a serious security concern.

According to Fatai, the parcel was received on May 7, 2026, by a security guard at Alebiosu’s Ikoyi residence. Upon inspection, the package was found to contain two 7.62mm calibre rounds.Detectives have since launched a probe, though no arrests have been made.

The commissioner noted that the bank chief mentioned individuals he suspects may be linked to the act, but stressed that such claims remain allegations until investigations are concluded.

“Those mentioned are merely suspects based on the complainant’s suspicion. Our investigation will determine those truly connected to the incident,” Fatai stated.

He urged the public to avoid speculation, assuring that the inquiry would be thorough and that anyone found culpable would face justice.
