The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a man linked to the abduction of three children from the same family in Yola North Local Government Area.
Police identified the suspect as Adamu Yahaya of the Hosere area in Jambutu. He was taken into custody following investigations into the abduction of three sons of Samaila Musa of Hullere Gwalamba, reported on June 16, 2026.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the incident occurred on June 12, when Musa’s children, Adamu Samaila Sultan, 24; Bilal Abdurrahman, 8; and Yau Sani Baba Iyali, 10 were kidnapped and taken to an undisclosed location.
The abductors later contacted the family and demanded ransom for their release.Nguroje explained that Commissioner of Police Kabir Hassan immediately ordered a discreet investigation, deploying intelligence and technical assets.
The swift operation led to Yahaya’s arrest, and he is currently providing information that may help apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
The police assured residents that efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and dismantle the network behind the abduction.
