The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, has commended Peter Obi for being the only presidential candidate to openly account for campaign expenditures.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Day Break program on Tuesday, Tanko recalled how Obi, alongside activist Aisha Yesufu, engaged an independent auditor to review campaign finances.
“They provided an account of every amount spent during the campaign. I would like to see the same level of transparency from other major parties, including the APC and PDP,” Tanko said.
He stressed that Obi’s commitment to accountability reflected the values he consistently advocated during the election, noting that the audited report was made available to the public.
“Peter Obi stood out because he was committed to the accountability and transparency he consistently advocated throughout the campaign,” Tanko added.
The Obidient Movement has long positioned itself as a grassroots-driven platform pushing for a “New Nigeria,” with transparency and integrity at the core of its political philosophy.
