With the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election fast approaching, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that recent resignations within its ranks will not derail its chances at the polls.
In a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the APC described the departures as a calculated attempt to project instability.
He stressed that the party remains “undaunted and unshakeable” and fully committed to the campaign of its candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.
The party urged members and supporters to remain steadfast, noting that defections are common during election seasons and had already been anticipated.
According to the statement, the development has only strengthened the resolve of loyal members to secure victory.
The APC also criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, accusing it of failing to adequately address education, healthcare, the economy, and commerce.
It argued that celebrations by opponents over the resignations were misplaced, pointing out that the party has recently attracted prominent figures from other political groups.
Reaffirming its confidence, the APC insisted that no alliance or political arrangement would prevent its candidate from winning, while praising steadfast members for their loyalty and commitment to the party’s success.
