One killed, seven injured as trailer rams into APC campaign procession in Osun

One person was reportedly killed and seven others injured on Wednesday after a trailer rammed into a campaign procession of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ede, Osun state.

The incident occurred at Oke Gada area of the town during a campaign walk organised in support of Bola Oyebamiji, the APC governorship candidate.

Eyewitnesses said the trailer veered off its lane, adding that the driver attributed the accident to brake failure.

According to the driver, the accident was caused by brake failure.

Meanwhile, the injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

“It has been reported that during the APC Endurance Walk for Ambo in Ede, a trailer driver rammed into the crowd, leaving one person dead and several others injured,” Adeshina, a supporter of APC, wrote on X.

Kola Olabisi, APC director of media and information in Osun, confirmed the incident, noting that the party was still awaiting full details of the accident and had dispatched a team to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

He added that the party would provide a comprehensive update after receiving findings of the investigation.
